Next to the House Concerts

IMT's weekly concert series provides an ideal venue to present traditional musicians who can draw an ample audience. However, there are a number of performers that IMT would like to present who need a more informal venue.

To provide a home for concerts by these artists, IMT started the "Next to the House" concert series in Takoma Park. Ticket prices are $12 to $15. The shows usually take place on weekends.

Concerts take place at various venues in the Takoma park community.

The newly renovated Takoma Park Community Center Auditorium, at 7500 Maple St., is a beautiful space with a professionally designed sound system and lighting, comfortable seating and excellent sight lines from the sloped auditorium floor.

The Dance Exchange is located at 7117 Maple Avenue, just off Carroll Avenue in Takoma Park. It's a short walk from the Takoma Metro station, and there's parking in back and along the side of the building.

Come meet some artists that we think you'll be hearing much more from in the future, make some new friends during the break and after the show, and get to know a great new music venue.
