Si Kahn, John McCutcheon, Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer Together in a
Benefit Concert for Grassroots Leadership
Monday, October 25, 8:00 PM
Unitarian Universalist Church of Silver Spring
$15 advance/$20 door
Si Kahn has been called a modern day Woody Guthrie and his
songs have been recorded and performed internationally by hundreds of
artists.
His compositions have transcended the folk
process drawn from a massive catalogue of music created out of his work as a
social activist, community organizer, father, husband and friend. His new CD,
We're Still Here includes 19 new songs. To celebrate Si's 60th
birthday and the 25th Anniversary of Grassroots Leadership (which he
founded and serves as Executive Director), former GL Board members
John McCutcheon (multi-GRAMMY nominee and a one man folk
festival proficient on many instruments) and Cathy Fink & Marcy
Marxer (GRAMMY winners) bring together a circle of musical and
political friends of over 25 years. They've sung each others songs, written
songs together, produced each others recordings and have worked together on
numerous campaigns. A rare concert experience with all three acts.
