Multi-instrumentalist Beth Patterson brings her traditional and original mix of Celtic,
Cajun and folk music back to IMT.
Performing primarily on her 8 and 10-string bouzoukis (or citterns), Beth is
also a first class bass guitarist and singer. She studied traditional Irish music and ethnomusicology
at the University of Cork in Ireland and has played in eleven countries throughout the Americas and Europe.
A veteran producer and studio musician who appears on over 60 recordings, Beth is also a prolific
songwriter whose compositions have been featured on the recordings of several diverse artists including her
former band, New Orleans’ award winning The Poor Clares.
Joining Beth in this double bill are Scottish harp virtuosi, Sue Richards & Sharon Knowles,
who formed the duo HEN to perform at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival in 2002.
