The Bog Wanderers Ceili Band came together initially to accompany Irish
country dancing, sponsored by the Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (CCE), an
organization that promotes the preservation and practice of Irish set dancing.
The scope of the band has since expanded to feature the fine vocals of tenor
banjo and tin whistle player, Betsy O'Malley as well. Joe
Dezarn on fiddle, Danny Flynn playing accordians, Tabby
Finch on piano, harp and hammered dulcimer, and percussionist, mandola,
guitar and harmonica player Jesse Winch round out the band's lineup.
Their long awaited CD, Here's to You, was released earlier this year
to enthusiastic reviews. Guest stepdancers will join the Bog Wanderers to
illustrate the many dimensions of traditional Irish music.
