This lively program by the internationally acclaimed Korean Power Drummers
showcases their mastery of evocative ancient music and powerful drumming. The
musicians, led by Master Shin Hyun Wook, director of the Poong Rudo Center in Seoul,
perform a 10,000-year-old musical repertoire with a variety of traditional instruments
and five drums. The Center, where the musicians are based is a music and cultural
education organization dedicated to the preservation and performance of Korea’s spiritual
musical heritage, promoting health improvement and self development. The performance
includes explanations of the music and the audience will be invited to join in the dancing.
