An
Elvis show at IMT? Well “Jailhouse Rock” may not
be a folksong, but Elvis has certainly become an American tradition.
With its roots in R&B and Gospel, Rock & Roll is music
of the folk and the “King” was one of its founding
fathers.
Jan 8 would have been Elvis’ 71st birthday. Help us celebrate
it with JP McDermott & Western Bop.
A native Washingtonian, J.P has sung every kind of music you
can think of, but he's happiest belting out a Ray Price heartbreaker,
or tearing into a Warren Smith rockabilly rave-up. To see what
happens when Rockabilly, Honky Tonk and Classic Country collide,
come listen to JP and his band: J.P. McDermott: Lead singer
and rhythm guitar; Bob Newscaster: Lead Guitar; Louie Newmyer:
Upright Bass; Tom Bowes: Drums; Andy Rutherford: Seriously Hot
Lead Guitar.
