At a John
Jorgenson Quintet performance, audiences are amazed by John's
dazzling guitar work as well as his mastery as a clarinetist and
vocalist. Whether playing his own accessible compositions or classic
standards, John and his band make music that is equally romantic and
joyous, played with virtuosity and soul. Jorgenson, a 6 year member of
Elton John's band, has been approached by artists ranging from Barbra
Streisand to Earl Scruggs for his guitar work. Recently, he was chosen
to portray Django Reinhardt in the feature film “Head in the Clouds”.
Jorgenson's latest CD Franco-American Swing, on J2/FGM Records, is full
of infectious gypsy jazz music. His quintet includes Buenos Aires
native Gonzalo Bergara, Charlie Chadwick
on rhythm guitar, Stephan Dudash, who plays guitar,
bass, congas and mandolin in addition to the 5-string viola and Cesare
Valbusa who hails from Italy
