Jon Carroll
has been a mainstay on the national music and entertainment
scene since the mid-1970's. As part of Starland Vocal Band,
in which he partnered with area great, Bill Danoff, he garnered
2 Grammy awards and #1 Billboard chart status with the pop classic,
“Afternoon Delight”. After recording 5 albums with
the group, Carroll continued performing and writing on his own.
His Rock-R&B shouter "Get Closer" was recorded
by Linda Ronstadt, and became a top-30 hit for her. As an extremely
versatile supporting player, he began performing with many songwriters
and entertainers, including Mary Chapin Carpenter.
After staying busy with others on the road and in the studio,
Jon is presently completing a solo CD to be released in January,
along with a previously un-released collection of songs, "Home
and Away" recorded in the 90's.
