Adrienne Young has a passion for agricultural roots. She has carried this passion to her current home on a VA farm and lovingly woven a verdantly audible desire to contribute to the Greater Good into her music career. An accomplished singer and songwriter, she’s proficient on multiple instruments including the guitar, piano, and clawhammer banjo, but learning the harp is currently taking a lot of attention. Her Band is: Oliver Craven, who has fiddled in Lancaster County, PA since childhood, is a burgeoning songwriter whose bright spirit is matched only by his awesome musicianship; Andy Thacker, from Charlottesville, VA, combines hard-core chops with melodic sensibility to bring fresh perspective to his mandolin, guitar, and vocals; and Jay Starling, son of John, voice of the Seldom Scene, from Fredericksburg, VA, makes his bluegrass debut this year. bringing his fine dobro to the Adrienne Young Band. With her first CD, Plow to the End of the Row (2003), Adrienne Young‘s compositions, as well as her commitment to the sustainable agriculture movement, found their way onto the international music scene, garnering her a Grammy nomination for her very first release on her own label, AddieBelle Records. Her first two releases led to national media exposure, including NPR features and accolades by the press. The Los Angeles Times named her “the Americana find of the year,” and, with the release of her 2nd CD, Room To Grow, an Emeril appearance on their Farm To Table episode.
