We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization supported by contributions from individual donors and by funding from the Maryland State Arts Council and the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County.
HMT specializes in instruments from the U.S. and around the world. In addition to their collection of exotic, unusual, and vintage instruments, they also feature fun folk instruments for music lovers of all ages and abilities. They have instructional and song books, music magazines, and recordings of traditional music from around the country and the world. They also coordinate music instructors and host music workshops. The Institute of Musical Traditions was born from a concert series started by David Eisner, the owner of the House of Musical Traditions.
The largest, single, non-profit group involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music and culture. The O'Neill l Branch presents concerts, dances, summer music and dance schools and the Musical Arts and Dance week school.
WAMA is an umbrella organization of Washington area musicians, concert promoters, lawyers, recording engineers, managers, graphic artists, and related businesses working together to address areas of common concern. They present the annual Washington Area Music Awards (the Wammies)..
