The House of Musical Traditions:
HMT specializes in instruments from the U.S. and around the world. In addition to their collection of exotic, unusual, and vintage instruments, they also feature fun folk instruments for music lovers of all ages and abilities. They have instructional and song books, music magazines, and recordings of traditional music from around the country and the world. They also coordinate music instructors and host music workshops. The Institute of Musical Traditions was born from a concert series started by David Eisner, the owner of the House of Musical Traditions.

Barnaby Productions:
Barnaby presents the fall and winter Celtic Concerts series at the Old Brogue in Great Fals and the Swift Run summer house concerts in Great Falls, and is the home of DC's pan-Celtic band IONA.

Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eirean, O'Neill-Malcolm Branch (CCE)):
The largest, single, non-profit group involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music and culture. The O'Neill l Branch presents concerts, dances, summer music and dance schools and the Musical Arts and Dance week school.

DC Bluegrass Union (DCBU):
DCBU promotes bluegrass in the DC area. They maintain an online calendar of bluegrass events, and present a bluegrass festival each February.

Focus Music:
Focus presents concerts in Rockville, Alexandria and Mount Vernon.

Folklore Society of Greater Washington (FSGW):
FSGW presents concerts and dances, and special weekend gatherings. They also publish a comprehensive monthly newsletter listing events in the Washington area (available in print and online).

The Greater Washington Ceili Club:
GWCC hosts monthly ceili dances with live music and sponsors a year-round program of dance instruction.

Mary Cliff's Traditions:
Mary hosts two radio shows and publishes lists of upcoming folk music events on her website. Check the website for show information.

The Song Writers Association of Washington (SAW):
SAW presents concerts and workshops, and hosts the annual Mid-Atlantic Song Concest.

Washington Area Music Association (WAMA):
WAMA is an umbrella organization of Washington area musicians, concert promoters, lawyers, recording engineers, managers, graphic artists, and related businesses working together to address areas of common concern. They present the annual Washington Area Music Awards (the Wammies)..
